Schools
Shakespeare Comic Books have proved their value all the way from KS1 to KS4, though most teachers use them as an introduction to Shakespeare in Year 6 or as a way to present his work in Years 7-9. The edited nature of the text means key speeches have been preserved, while the modern English translation and illustrations support students who may struggle with Shakespeare’s glorious but occasionally baffling language.
The Shakespeare Comic Books are unique.
Each title offers:
- Edited original text
- Modern English translation
- Fully illustrated comic style presentation

The Shakespeare Comic Books have been used all the way from KS1 to KS5. They are most used, however, as an introduction to Shakespeare’s work in Year 6, KS 2 and at KS 3 and 4. Many schools use the comic books with students studying GCSE English in Years 10 or 11.
The comic books are on sale at the Royal Shakespeare Company and The Shakespeare Bookshop, Stratford. They also form part of The Michael P. Jensen Collection for Shakespeare in Mass Media and Popular Culture, housed at the Southern Oregon University, USA.
